I’m 21 and a university student, I’m finishing my last year of my B Ed degree I’m taking a computer class which is showing me how to use the Internet purposefully in a classroom setting! I am also currently working on my B of Arts in English as well as I believe that not only you can never start learning but, keeping up on your English skills and knowledge is quite important at any age.
Background: I grew up in Hudson Bay, SK which is a small logging town north of Preeceville. It was a wonderful place to grow up as not only everyone knew you but it seemed everyone knew what you were doing at all times. My family consists of 5 people my mother, my father, my brother, myself and my dog. My mother Wendy is a elementary school principal who is retiring this year (as I’m just coming into the field I continue to tell her out with the old in with the new). My father owns his own business which is quite successful as he is still able to take holidays for hockey and fastball. My brother is just finishing his law degree at UBC and is excited to come back to work with a Saskatchewan law firm and my dog continues to love long runs, eating biscuits and chasing other animals.
I choose education as a field of professionalism as I could not imagine doing anything else, I never wanted to be a teacher when I was younger even in my teens, my aspirations were to be a lawyer, a doctor, an architect or a chef, but alas when I reflected on my life I realized only one thing made me happy and that was coaching figuring skating, swimming, volleyball and basketball or coming and helping out at the elementary school at different days. Even to this day I think some where down the road my mom tricked me into educating, but I couldn’t be happier that she did.
To this day I enjoy sports, I still coach volleyball, figure skaitng, basketball, and swimming but I have added to the list to included track (distance running and jumping events), older adult fitness, and aquatic fitness classes. I think being in shape will hopefully keep me young for a very long time.
My goal is travel and see the world while teaching because my motto i you only have one life why not embrace it! Which to me means learn as much as you can, see as much as you can and be as much as you can… Any questions please feel free to email me at rdanderson12@gmail.com
Here’s a video I made about myself….
Dear Rochelle,
We think you should become a first grade teacher because
first grade ROCKS! You have to have brains, you have to be fun and you have to be sweet and talented. We are sure you are all of these things.
